From the moment they arrive at registration, campers are invited into a warm and loving environment. They ride in style on a coach bus to the camp where a cheering crowd of their Camper Buddies awaits them. After that, the week is filled with experiences meant to give them positive memories to last a lifetime. Campers have the opportunity to ride horses, swim in the lake, kayak, participate in technical tree climbing, archery, and wood shop, create a variety of crafts at the activities center, attend a carnival, and celebrate their birthday. And that's just the activities!
Campers also enjoy meals with their Camper Buddies, family-style. They attend Sunshine Club and evening Ministry while being loved on by Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle and their Camper Buddy. Coach is sure to give everyone a workout during morning exercises, but don't worry, there's also Coach's Olympic Games where every child is celebrated for their sporting skills.
More than all of the fun and games, is the transformation that takes place in each camper. Champions for Life Kids' Camp creates a safe environment that gives way to healing in the hearts of each child. By mid-week, the campers have transitioned from scared, lonely, angry and wary to adventurous, excited and trusting. They have formed amazing bonds with their camper buddies and are learning to HOPE once again. The most challenging part of camp is dealing with the realization that the end of the week is coming much too soon. That is when campers, camper buddies and staff alike have to lean on God's grace and know that our HOPE is in HIM.
